God’s Abundant Grace

Thanks so much to Bec for sharing some thoughts today. They were a beautiful testimony of her experience of God's grace in her life. Again, thank you.

Bec shared a great quote from Richard Rohr's recent mediations on grace...
“Psychologically, humans tend to operate out of a worldview of fear and scarcity rather than trust and abundance. This stingy, calculating worldview makes both grace and mercy unimaginable and difficult to experience.” Richard Rohr

There was also a gentle but firm challenge for us all amongs her words..
"We are assured of God’s love, mercy, grace so often.  How clear does it need to be made?  How many quotes do I need to find to truly believe it?" Bec Henry

Here is just one of the many, many quotes Bec shared with us...
So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose?  If God didn't hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn't gladly and freely do for us? Rom 8: 31 - 32 (The Message)

And also...
The flow of grace through us is largely blocked when we are living inside a worldview of scarcity, a feeling that there's just not enough: enough of God, enough of me, enough food, enough mercy to include and forgive all faults. The problem is exacerbated by the fact that the mind is apparently unable to imagine anything infinite or eternal. Richard Rohr

Her final verse, a favourite, is so inspiring...
By entering through faith into what God has always wanted to do for us – set us right with him, make us fit for him – we have it all together with God because of our Master Jesus.  And that’s not all:  We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us.  We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand out in the wide open spaces of God’s grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praiseRomans 5:1-2 (The Message)

Have a great week everyone!
