Dear all,

Each year, Christadelphian Aged Care employs young people who are linked in some way to the Christadelphian community as Activity Assistants on a casual basis.  This program provides these young people with an introduction to work in the aged care sector; an opportunity to learn about the range of careers that are available in this sector; and a short period of paid employment.

The program has been amended this year, based on suggestions and experiences of participants during previous offerings.  Significant changes include:

·         Limiting the number of Casual Activity Assistants to two positions at each location

·         Providing a mandatory induction session for all participants on Friday 24 November 2017

·         Expecting participants to attend for the full seven calendar weeks of the Program (excluding local public holidays), from Monday 11 December 2017 to Thursday 25 January 2018

·         Excluding participants from locations at which they have any relationship to an existing staff member at that site.

Attached is a Position Description for the role of Activity Assistant, and a form for any young people who are interested in the opportunity to complete and return to me by Sunday 5 November 2017.  Each of the young people who express an interest in this opportunity will be contacted, and should expect to be involved in an interview.  Selection for the two participants at each location will be based on this interview and on the material submitted in the attached Applicant Details form.

I have sent this information to each Ecclesia in NSW, the ACT and Queensland, and to Heritage College Sydney and Heritage College Lake Macquarie, and would be grateful if you would promote this opportunity to suitable young people at your Ecclesia or school.

I am happy to answer any questions relating to this initiative.

With love to all in the Lord,
